How they met

We actually went to the same high school and we had had a few classes together. We just never really got to know each other until the end of senior year when a mutual friend brought up the idea of setting us up. For our first date he took me out to eat at Applebee’s to have dinner together on one of our snow days.

We knew it was love when the thought of living without one another was impossible to imagine. We prioritize each other’s needs above our own, we picture a life with one another, and we share a lot of the same values in a relationship.

The proposal

On the morning of the proposal, I was told that we were going to take pictures with Levi and his family out at Giant City Park, and then we were going to dinner at Giant City Lodge afterwards. That evening we pulled up to Giant City, and we were driving around looking for a good place to take pictures. I saw a cute little bridge going across a small stream and so I suggested we take pictures there. Little did I know, I was picking the spot he would propose to me. We took a few pictures on the bridge with his family and then his mom said, “Okay now we are going to get some pictures of just the two of you.” So I turned around to go stand by him and he was down on his knee. I was so surprised that I couldn’t even talk, and just immediately started crying. After I gained composure, I finally said yes, and then he placed the ring on my finger. After that, I was still expecting to eat at the Lodge with his family, but he had also planned a special dinner for just the two of us at the Hideout.
