Let Them Eat Cake | Marie Antoinette Inspired Wedding
Get swept up in this decadent and lavish modern-day Marie Antoinette themed bridal photo shoot brought to you by a group of talented Southern Illinois wedding professionals. Inspired by the color scheme and attitude of Sophia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette, this glamorous and whimsical styled scene is a real treat. And speaking of treats…wait until you see the stunning cake and cookies!
Bridal Style
Kayla Hudgens of The Beauty Room transformed model Mackenzie Martin into French royalty with a dramatic updo, rosy cheeks and bold hot pink lips. This look may be inspired by a historical figure, but can be a glamorous style for a modern bride. A pink feather and butterfly hair piece complete the hairstyle.
An elegant dress was selected from Rent the Runway. The Amber Gown by Nha Khanh has a delicate lace bodice with plain full skirt structure. This showstopping gown is still simple enough to allow other details such as jewelry and the bouquet to shine. Layers of necklaces and a black lace choker enhanced the wedding dress while adding to the whimsical flair.
Lindsay Stockhecke of Deliciously Ordinary created a dreamy array of colorful florals. The bridal bouquet overflows with hydrangeas, white roses, spray rose, dusty miller and babies breath.
Decor
Deliciously Ordinary set the stage for our Marie Antoinette scene in a sunny nook found in the Havisham House master bedroom. A luxurious purple fur rug ties in the floral arrangements while contrasting against the lustrous metal vases. Plenty of sweets and fruits are on hand for an indulging display.
Desserts
A Marie Antoinette wedding needs extravagant desserts to satisfy this queen’s sweet tooth. Anna Baking Company designed a custom wedding cake with lots of frosting and bold colors. This three-tiered masterpiece features exquisite ruffles, rhinestone trim and an ornate gold and floral design topped with a floral crown. This wedding cake is the center of attention.
Perfectly crafted sugar cookies by Sugar Time Sweets add more color to the bountiful dessert display. Bright pinks, blues, greens and purples accent the treats shaped like teacups, teapots and roses. Let us add that they taste as amazing as they look too!
When it’s time to plan an affair to remember, don’t be afraid to go bold and over-the-top. Find the right professionals who can make your vision come to life. Once the day is over, relive every memory in your beautiful images in the years to come.
