You are My Sunshine | Southern Illinois Wedding
The Couple
Taylor Dashiell from Marshall, IL.
Grant Doerner from Ava, IL.
How they met
We met when working together at Rural King in Carbondale, Illinois. We had been best friends for about five months before we started dating. It didn’t take long at all for us to fall in love. We knew within two weeks of dating that we were going to get married.
The proposal
We were getting fall pictures done when Grant surprised me during the photo shoot by getting on one knee!
The Venue
We had our wedding and reception at Keller’s Crossing at Stone Creek in Makanda, Illinois. Their wedding and event coordinator Toni Cannon and her staff really sold us on the venue. They took care of every need we had and made sure everything went smoothly. Plus it was a bonus that we could have the ceremony, dinner and reception all in one place. Their food was phenomenal.
Wedding inspiration
We were inspired by a kind of rustic style. My mom made most of the decorations herself and did the majority of decorating.
Favorite part
Our favorite part of the wedding was visiting with guests right before dinner. We took time to go around to each table and thank them personally for celebrating our big day with us.
Memorable Moment
When the barn doors finally opened for me to walk down the aisle.
Advice
Just go with the flow! No one will know something isn’t going as planned besides you.
